ProPortalWelcome to ProPortal, an innovative health information and management website for patients, designed in collaboration with clinicians at the London Regional Cancer Program's Prostate Cancer Centre. The ProPortal program aims to enhance prostate cancer patients' connection to the resources and people that can assist with their journey. ProPortal is being launched in September 2009 as part of an evaluation of the benefits of Internet-based education and health management for patients of the London Regional Cancer Program's (LRCP) Prostate Cancer Centre. Participants will have access to a secure portal that provides a range of tools to facilitate learning, self-management, and peer and healthcare provider support. The evaluation of ProPortal is being led by Dr. Femida Gwadry-Sridhar of the Lawson Health Research Institute and I-THINK Research and Dr. Glenn Bauman of the LRCP Prostate Cancer Centre. The project is funded by a grant from the Health Technology Exchange (htx.ca), an agency of the Ontario Ministry of Research and Innovation. |
